Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and ALIEN LAB LLC ("Hoops", "we", "us", or "our") governing your use of the Hoops mobile application and website (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility and accounts for minors

You must be able to form a binding contract to use the Service. Hoops is used by youth sports organizations, so minors use the Service only with the involvement and consent of a parent or guardian, and/or under the authorization of the organization enrolling them. A parent/guardian who registers or approves a child's account is responsible for that child's use of the Service and agrees to these Terms on the child's behalf. 2. Your account

You are responsible for the information you provide, for keeping your login credentials secure, and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that create risk or legal exposure.

3. The Service

Hoops provides tools for basketball academies and clubs, including team and roster management, scheduling and attendance, training logs and rankings, messaging, a social feed, tournaments and live scoring, and fee/invoice tracking. Features may change over time. Some features depend on your account role and your organization's configuration.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• break the law, infringe others' rights, or violate these Terms;
• harass, bully, threaten, or endanger anyone — this is especially important because the community includes children;
• upload or share content that is unlawful, abusive, hateful, sexually explicit, or otherwise harmful, or that you do not have the right to share;
• impersonate others or misrepresent your affiliation;
• attempt to access accounts, data, or systems without authorization, or probe, scan, or circumvent security or rate limits;
• scrape, harvest, or collect other users' data;
• upload malicious code or disrupt the Service; or
• use the Service to send spam or unsolicited messages.

Zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive behavior. There is no tolerance for objectionable content (including harassment, hate, threats, sexual content, or content that endangers minors) or for abusive users. You can report any post or message and block any user from within the app. We review reports and will remove offending content and eject the users who post it, ordinarily within 24 hours. We may remove content and suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules, with or without notice.

5. Your content

You retain ownership of the content you create (posts, comments, messages, photos, videos, training logs). You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, and display that content solely to operate and provide the Service to you and the people you share it with. You represent that you have the rights to the content you upload and that it does not violate these Terms or any law. You are responsible for your content. We may, but are not obligated to, moderate, remove, or restrict content.

6. Organizations, roles, and member data

Organizations use Hoops to manage their members. If you belong to an organization, its staff (e.g., managers, coaches, accountants) may access information about you that is necessary to run the program, according to their role. The organization is responsible for how it uses member data. If you join or leave an organization, related access changes accordingly.

7. Fees and payments

Hoops lets organizations record fees and issue invoices to members and lets members view what they owe. Hoops does not process card or bank payments and does not store raw payment details; any actual payment is arranged directly between you and your organization. You are responsible for fees your organization charges under its own terms.

8. Notifications and communications

You agree that we may send you service communications (e.g., verification and password-reset codes, and account or safety notices). With your permission, we send push notifications about your teams, games, training, and fees; you can control these in your device settings.

9. Third-party services

The Service relies on third parties (including hosting, email, push-notification, and maps providers) and may link to third-party content. We are not responsible for third-party services, and your use of them may be subject to their terms.

10. Intellectual property

The Service, including its software, design, and trademarks, is owned by ALIEN LAB LLC or its licensors and is protected by law. We grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service in accordance with these Terms. You may not copy, modify, distribute, reverse-engineer, or create derivative works except as permitted by law.

11. Termination and account deletion

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time (Settings → Delete account), which permanently removes your account and personal data as described in the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or to protect the Service or its users. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (e.g., ownership, disclaimers, limitations of liability) will survive.

12. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure. Hoops is a management and training-log tool and does not provide medical, health, or professional coaching advice; do not rely on it as such. Training and performance data are for informational purposes only.

13. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ALIEN LAB LLC and its officers, employees, and suppliers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the claim, or USD 100. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law (e.g., for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud).

14. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless ALIEN LAB LLC from claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your content, your use of the Service, or your violation of these Terms or of any law or third-party right.

15. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which ALIEN LAB LLC is organized, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules, and the courts of that jurisdiction will have exclusive jurisdiction, except where mandatory local consumer-protection law provides otherwise.

16. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated version with a new "Last updated" date and, for material changes, provide additional notice. Your continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
